Alfred, age 83, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 26, 2022. He was a resident of Independence, LA. Alfred's passions were ministry and music. During his ministerial career, which spanned five decades, he pastored five churches and spoke as an evangelist at multiple venues. Alfred was an active member of Independence First UPC and taught the adult Sunday school class for several years. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing with family and friends at local churches. Alfred had an extensive library and was an avid reader until the very end. He loved his family deeply and will be forever missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Albert Kerbow; daughters, Tammy Lynn Kerbow, Phyllis Darlene Hutson (Billy), Sandra Kay Kerbow; brother, John Kerbow (Betty); grandchildren, Kristi Carpenter (Michael), Kelli Miller, Adam Hutson (Kayla), William Hutson (Erica); great-grandchildren, Dewayne Mackles, Dalton Swerer, Gentry Hutson, Clara Carpenter, Cole Hutson, Luke Hutson; 2 nieces; and 3 nephews.
Alfred is preceded in death by his parents, David Ardell Kerbow and Maggie Mae Kerbow; brothers, Guindal Kerbow (Betty), Floyd Kerbow (Sue); and sister, Lodee Grigg (Glenn).
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation at the First United Pentecostal Church of Independence on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Bro. Billy Hutson will officiate with interment to follow at Mt. Hermon Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
