Alfred Massarone, 73, of Johnston, Rhode Island, Director of the Vehicle Inspections and Emissions Control Department for the State of Rhode Island for 51 years, died at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence, Rhode Island on Sunday, February 8, 2004. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, February 11, 2004, 5-8 p.m., at Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, 8 a.m., at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, 9 a.m., at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1408 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, Rhode Island. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to Amos House, P.O. Box 2873, Providence, RI 02907. Arrangements entrusted to Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, Providence, Rhode Island.

I am sorry to see that Freddy passed away. I lived in the house on 32 Oak St. in Providence when I was a child. He was a very good friend of mylate brother, Jim Giblin. May God Bless Him and keep in his Care.
