Joan F. (Louth) Massarone of Warwick, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 15, 2023 at the age of 77. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph A. Massarone. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John F. and Margaret M. (Reid) Louth.
Joan was employed as a sales clerk in the jewelry department at Walmart for many years before retiring in 2018. Having been the primary caregiver to her daughter, Kimberly and eventually her husband, Joseph, her family was the center of her life. She was affectionately known as "Grandma Joan" to not only her own grandchildren, but the neighborhood youngsters too. Joan cherished spending time with her family. She had a caring yet independent spirit, and enjoyed shopping during her free time.
She was the loving mother of Peter J. Massarone (wife, Karen) and the late Kimberly D. Massarone; grandma of Scott D. Haskell, Christopher J. Haskell (wife, Leora), Matthew B. Haskell, Bryan A. Haskell (fiancé, Kristen Corcoran), Katherine M. Massarone, and Peter J. Massarone Jr.; and great-grandma of Gemma L. Haskell. Joan is also survived by her sister, Margaret Frenze, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 4-7 pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home of Warwick.
