William E. Lucas Sr.

William E. Lucas, Sr., a retired Truck Driver, passed away Friday, August 15, 2025, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Joan M. (Leonard) Lucas to whom he shared 64 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2020. William was the devoted father of Donald Lucas and the late William E. Lucas Jr., Robert Lucas and Robin Lucas-Greco; cherished grandfather of Michael Lucas, James Lucas, William E. Lucas III, Mindy Lucas and the late Melissa Lucas; great-grandfather of 6. He was the younger brother of Patty Sprague.

He was a lifetime member of the Oakland Beach Firemen's Club where he served as one of their stewards. Tuesday and Thursday nights were for playing cards at the club and he could be found sitting at the Texas Hold 'Em or Hi-Lo-Jack table. Through the club, he made many lasting friendships with those who are going to miss him tremendously. Above all, he was a true family man who loved his wife and family and enjoyed making memories with them.

A Visitation will be held Friday, August 22, 2025, from 10am-12pm with a Funeral Ceremony at 12pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. His burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in William's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 7312, Warwick, RI 02886.
