Alfred Arthur Rousseau, 87, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Alfred Norman Rousseau and Florence (Caya) Stevens, and he lived in the New Bedford area for most of his life.

Known to many as Arthur, he was a lifelong sports fan with a special devotion to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed the camaraderie of football pools, spent time golfing as a lifelong member of Montaup Country Club, liked a good card game with friends, and loved his cats.

Alfred worked for Titleist for more than 30 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra Canastra and her husband Raymond of Lakeville; his son, David Rousseau and his wife Polly (Duff) of Mattapoisett; and his former spouse, Vivian Rousseau Graham of Fairhaven. He also leaves his sister, Elaine Reeves of Acushnet; his brother, George Jackson of New Bedford; and his grandchildren, Krista Rousseau of Charlotte, NC; Jeffrey Rousseau and his wife Maeve of Mansfield; Cassie (Canastra) Larsen and her husband Ross of Rochester; and Kyler Canastra of Lisbon, Portugal.

His visitation will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 10 AM to 12 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Road, Mattapoisett, followed by a service at 12 PM in the funeral home. Luncheon to follow.
