Jerome C. Hardy

Jerome C. Hardy, 65, of Fairhaven, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Susan (Pina) Hardy, with whom he shared many cherished years.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Katherine Cox and Jessie Hardy, Jerome made New Bedford, MA his home for most of his life.

In his early years, Jerome proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, an experience that shaped his discipline, resilience, and diligence.

Known for his commitment and strong work ethic, Jerome worked as a machine operator at Titleist in Fairhaven for the past 28 years. His coworkers became 2nd family to him whom he valued deeply and often spoken of with gratitude. Jerome had a contagious laugh that brought joy to everyone around him.

Outside of work, Jerome had a love for sports and competition. Whether on the basketball court, at the bowling alley, tossing a cornhole bag, or joining a game of kickball, he enjoyed not only the sport itself but also the connection those moments created with family and friends.

Jerome's Christian faith guided him throughout his life and laid a solid foundation for all his children. The biggest lesson they learned was to always keep their faith and to never give up no matter how hard life gets.

Jerome is survived by his nine children: Tawana, Jacqueline, Ebony, Tony, Crowletta, Susan, Jerome Jr., Katherine, and Delores; his sister, Cynthia Hardy Ubaike; and his 26 vibrant grandchildren who are leaving a legacy of love, resilience, and faith
