Alfred Seiler Obituary
He served in the US Army and Army Reserves from 1951 – 1956. After his military service Alfred worked at Camp Gary in San Marcos. Later, he became an accomplished auto mechanic, working for the Edsel dealer in Austin, then Roy Butler Lincoln Mercury. During his time there, he serviced the vehicles of President Lyndon B. Johnson. Later he opened his own auto-mechanic shop in Buda, until the doctor told him he couldn't turn wrenches anymore. He then sold Cornwell Tools until his retirement.
He married Ella May Guthrie in 1962 and they were married 48 years until her death in 2010. From their union sons Steve and Kenneth were born.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ella Mae Seiler, son Steve Seiler, his sisters and brothers. Left to cherish his memory is son Kenneth Seiler, Cousin Robert Jaeger, one niece and five nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Harrell Funeral Home of Kyle, 1715 Kirby, Kyle, TX 78640. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Harrell Funeral Home of Kyle with Pastor David Sweet officiating. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca, TX.

Mr. Seiler was the father of Steve Seiler, who was my closest friend throughout middle and high school. I fondly remember the days when Alfred operated an automotive shop in Buda, Texas. Steve, his brother Kenneth, and all of us used to ride minibikes around the neighborhood. Mr. Seiler was a reserved man devoted to his family. Now, he is reunited with Ella Mae, his wife, and Steve. My heartfelt condolences go out to Kenneth and the entire family during this difficult time of loss.
