Alfred Donald Snipes Sr.

Alfred Donald Snipes, 91, of Timberlake, North Carolina went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 12, 2024. Alfred was born November 24,1932, the youngest child of Elijah Alexander Snipes and Ina Allen Snipes. Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings, Arch, Dan, Edgar, Stedman, Dorothy Anne and Eleanor.
A celebration of Alfred's life will be held 3 PM Thursday August 15th at Berry's Grove Baptist Church, 9628 Berry Rd., Timberlake, NC with graveside immediately following in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his loving wife of 71 years, Joyce Berry Snipes; son, Al Snipes and wife Alice; daughter, Amy Galloway and husband Bill; grandsons - Evan Snipes (Sarah), David Galloway (Jen) and Brian Galloway (Kate); great-grandchildren – Nate Turner, Addy Turner, Charlotte Galloway and Jack Galloway and many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 2 – 3 PM in the Family Life Center at Berry's Grove Baptist.
The family also wants to express love and gratitude to the late Barbara Leide, Jessica Lane and the compassionate staff at Smithfield Nursing and Rehabilitation for supporting Joyce and Alfred on their journey. We do not walk this life alone and those who care for others in their time of need are truly doing God's work of love at the highest level.
