Obituary
Guest Book
A simple woman with simple pleasures and desires. Dreamed of a large family with lots of love and laughter. She sacrificed joyfully and always put the needs of her family first.
Her greatest work and greatest love was her family. As a wife she honored her husband and ensured the household was well loved and cared for. This ensured her husband, Walter, could be free to focus on being the provider and protector.
As a stay-at-home mom, she raised eight children to be caring, educated and responsible adults.
Alfreda nurtured the uniqueness of each of her children. Through her loving training her children attained professionally advanced careers and became loving spouses, partners and generous adults..
But perhaps her most profound love was for Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She prayed continually for all her children by name and desired, above all, that each of them would believe in the saving sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Her perpetual joy and gratefulness was rooted in her confidence in her Lord and surrender to His will.
Preceded in death by her husband Walter Francis Sowinski and daughter Diana Sowinski.
Surviving children Vivian Filippelli (Louis), Andrea Colon (Robert), Michael Sowinski (Teresa), Wendy Sowinski (Wayne MacKenzie), Teresa Boone (Gary), John Sowinski, and Tina Forthoffer (Kevin), and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
