Frank Anthony Sowinski, 97, of
High Point, NC, entered peacefully into his eternal rest on May 28, 2025. Born on January 10, 1928, in Dickson City, PA he is the son of the late Frank Michael Sowinski and Sophie Zalewski Sowinski.
Frank served in the US Army during World War II. He then graduated from the University of Scranton and had a long and successful career working for Ballantine & Sons Brewing Company and then Pennwalt Chemical Corporation. He was married to the love of his life, Grace Stoback Sowinski, for 61 years before her death in 2014. Frank was a devout Catholic whose faith guided him throughout his life. He was always there for anyone who needed him, whether it was as a wiffle ball pitcher in the street's "diaper league" baseball games, being part of the school board in East Hanover, NJ, staying by Grace's side when she was in the hospital, or being the "governor" for his grandchildren. He could always be counted on to do whatever it took.
Frank was predeceased by two brothers, Joe Sowinski and Dennis Sowinski. He is survived by his loving son, Frank and his wife, Julie of Warren, NJ and his loving son, David and his wife, Teresa of New London, NC. He leaves behind five adored grandchildren, Kate, Mark, Scott, Brian and Kevin; his precious great-grandchildren, Makenna, T.J., Andrew, Cole, Charlie, Tyler, Eleanor, and Brooklyn; his siblings, Len Sowinski and his wife, Carol, Mary Sowinski, Sophia Svelund, Ann Begin and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends from 10:30 until 10:55 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Baiju Paul O.S.F.S.. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.
