Freddy was 73 years old, at the time of his passing. Born on November 18, 1950, and a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas and very proud of it.
He graduated from Bel-Air High School in 1969. It was an honor for him to have served 20+ years for the El Paso Police Department. After retiring he couldn't stay home and decided to become a Criminal Justice Instructor for Horizon High for 10+ years and coached the Horizon High School Girls Soccer team and continued substituting thereafter for a couple of years. Still unable to stay home, he became a Defensive Driving Instructor for 5+ years. He enjoyed playing softball and basketball and yes, without being said, he was and will always be a proud Dallas Cowboys fan. This is just a few and actually does not even scratch the surface of the many accomplishments throughout his lifetime.
He was diagnosed with terminal cancer in April of 2019 and given only 2-2 ½ years of survival. This past April-2024, we were blessed to have celebrated his milestone of 5 years. He was strong, resilient and never gave up, fighting a good fight from 2019-2024.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Chaffino; Son Christopher Reyes; Brother Robert Reyes; Sister Gloria Molinar and Grandchildren Samantha Reyes, Dominic Reyes, Julian Reyes, Trinity Reyes and Grandchildren by Heart: Anthony Caraveo, Evan Serrano, Ellie Rodriguez and Jaycob Rodriguez.
He was preceded in death by his Father Alfredo Reyes Sr, Mother Elena G. Reyes and Sister Dora Porras
Join us in celebrating his life at Perches Funeral Home-East on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 5pm-9pm, with Rosary at 7pm.

I can't remember the first time I met him but I do remember when I was either 1 or 2. We took professional photos together. I also remember being 2, on Easter, he brought me this giant stuffed rabbit. We had such great fun and conversations throughout our life. It feels odd not having him physically in my life anymore. I will forever love and miss him!! Until we meet again Nino, Rest in Paradise.

My heartfelt condolences to the Reyes family. I knew him through his sister, Gloria. She and I were in the same grade growing up. My oldest sister knew Alfredo and she spoke very highly of him. No longer in pain. Alfred rest in peace.
