Alfredo Rodriguez Jr.

It is with the deepest sorrows that we announce the passing of Alfredo "Fred" Rodriguez Jr., on March 15, 2025 at the age of 59.
Fred was born in Jersey City, NJ to Alfredo Sr. and Rosanne Rodriguez. He lived an exemplary life of faith and unwavering commitment to his family and community.
Fred's family was the heart of his world, and his dedication as a husband and father knew no bounds. Fred's love for his wife, Cathy, was deep, selfless, and enduring-a bond forged in their youth and strengthened over a lifetime. Over 41 beautiful years, they explored the world hand in hand, traveling to over 15 countries and over 30 states, creating memories of a lifetime together. His love for his family was deepened by his dedication to being a father to Elijah. He was a proud father who never missed a baseball game, and would celebrate Elijah's every achievement with his whole heart, no matter how big or small. A deeply devoted father, Fred knew the subtle nuances of Elijah's favorite sports & past times, and always showed up & showed his support.
He was a man who lived life to the fullest. When he wasn't working, he filled his time with his family by rollerblading, bike riding, spending quality time at the beach, and exploring their backyard of coastal New Jersey.
Fred served 37 years as a police officer in Jersey City, where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant and spearheaded the implementation of the body-worn camera program for the Jersey City Police department. He earned his bachelor's degree from Jersey City State College.
Fred's life was deeply rooted in his faith. His belief in God was his guiding light, shaping him into a man of integrity.
Fred will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife Cathy Rodriguez, son Elijah Rodriguez, MD & spouse Katie Rodriguez, father & mother Alfredo Rodriguez Sr. & Rosanne Rodriguez, grandmother Isolina Rodriguez, brothers & spouses: Bobby Rodriguez, JCPD & Jennifer Rodriguez, Kenny Rodriguez & Roxanne Rodriguez, JCPD, and Michael Rodriguez & Lori Rodriguez, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 4-8pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home 115 Tindall Rd., Middletown. On Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11am, there will be a Memorial Mass held at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church at 103 Center Ave, Atlantic Highlands and he will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Red Bank.
