Alice Graves Adkisson

Alice Graves Adkisson – Age 88 of Antioch, TN. February 13, 2024. Alice was a member of Tusculum Church of Christ for 55+ years. She was a stay-at-home mom until her four children finished school. Alice worked for 14 years at Tusculum church of Christ Day School.
She graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1954. After graduation she moved to Nashville to work for BellSouth as a telephone operator. Then married Jim and they started their family. She attended MTSU for Art classes.
Alice was a wonderful cook and was well known for her coconut pies. She was also very creative. She enjoyed taking classes at Fifty Forward where she made numerous friends in her writer's group and card making classes.
Preceded in death by husband of 61 years, James William Adkisson; and son, Phil Adkisson. Survived by daughters, Sherri (Mark) Black & Karen Adkisson; son, Steve (Lynn) Adkisson; daughter-in-law, Melissa Adkisson; grandsons, Alex (Sarah) Black, Jake (Lauren) Adkisson, Robby Adkisson & Austin Black; granddaughters, Lauren (Caleb) Hale, Leigh Ann Adkisson, Andi (Jordan) Harris & Morgan Adkisson; 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted by P.R. Anderson on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. (visitation 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road. Interment McCains Cemetery, Culleoka, TN. Her family will serve as Pallbearers.
