Alice Andrews Obituary

Alice was born in San Antonio to Louis Sr. and Mary Janysek Gawlik on December 2, 1947. Alice attended high school at Blessed Sacrament Academy and graduated in 1966. She worked for the San Antonio Water System (City Water Board) for 45 years in the Accounting Department. Alice never met a stranger. She was the life of the party. She enjoyed baking her famous carrot cakes, sewing, online shopping and many-many phone calls with family and many good friends. Alice was a devout Catholic and spent many hours volunteering at her church and at several nursing homes. Momo dearly loved her grandchildren and kept her two daughters in line.
Alice is survived by her husband of 55 years Alvin Andrews, daughters Lisa Andrews and Margo Peterson (husband Aric); Siblings Alene Pawelek, Gene Gawlik (wife Linda), Rose Gonzales (partner Oscar), Darlene Herrera (husband Richard); Grandchildren Aidan and Tatum Peterson and Mary, Isaiah, Isaac and Luke Gabrelcik, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Alice is preceded in death by her parents Louis Sr. and Mary Gawlik, siblings Gabriel Gawlik, Mary Lyssy and Louis Gawlik Jr.
Services and visitation will be held at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, 125 W Whittier St, San Antonio, TX 78210 on Friday October 24, 2025. Visitation and viewing will be at 8 AM, Rosary recited at 9 AM, Eulogy at 9:30 AM, Mass at 10 AM. Immediately following mass, burial will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church Cemetery, 6403 County Road 211, Falls City TX 78113. Luncheon and fellowship to follow at the Falls City Community Hall, 306 W Front St, Falls City, TX 78113.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that monetary donations be designated for mass intentions for Alice.
