Obituary
Alicia Hidalgo Baca of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. She was blessed to be at home surrounded by the love of her husband and children.
Alicia was born on Friday, May 26, 1939 to Simon and Domitilia Hidalgo in Jarales, New Mexico. In 1963, she married the love of her life, Raymond I. Baca. Alicia and Raymond went on to have four children: Raymond, Andrew, Christopher, and Sonya; followed by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband and children.
She graduated from Belen High School and went on to graduate from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor's degree. Alicia had a full career at Kirtland Air Force Base in the Human Resources department. She was the leader of the Stay in School Program and was responsible for many young men and women furthering their education. Upon her retirement, Alicia had a very successful career as a Real Estate agent.
Alicia had many talents. She was an excellent artist and many of her paintings are treasured by her children. Alicia also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and was an excellent interior decorator. Her favorite hobby was quilting and the quilts she made are cherished by her family and friends.
A Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Pl NE, on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
