ALICE BECKER

Mrs. Alice Becker of Okawville, IL departed this life in the St. Elizabeth's Hospital at O'Fallon, IL on Thursday, January 15, 2026. She had attained the age of 90 years,10 months, and 19 days.

Alice was born in Okawville on February 27, 1935, the daughter of Henry and Lydia (nee Hasheider) Joellenbeck. She was united in marriage to Harold Becker in St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Okawville on April 30, 1983, and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Becker was a faithful member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Okawville. She worked as a radiology technician at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, IL until her retirement. Alice loved to sing and dance and she loved listening to her record collection. She enjoyed reading and loved being with her family.

Left to mourn her passing are two sisters, Nora Severs of Norfolk, NE, and Florence Ayers of Beaver Creek, OH; a sister-in-law, Shirley Joellenbeck of Florissant, MO; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Joellenbeck and Rev. Roy Joellenbeck and his wife Kay; two sisters, Ruth Holtgrewe and her husband Edward and Melba Holtgrewe and her husband Roland; and two brothers-in-law, Harry Severs and Paul Ayers.

In accordance with the wishes of Alice and her family, cremation will be performed. Services to celebrate the life of Alice Becker and her beloved sister Melba Holtgrewe, who passed away on December 18, 2025, will be held from the St. Peter's Unted Church of Christ in Okawviile on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11 A.M. with Pastor Jeffrey Schwab officiating. Interment of ashes will be in the St. Paul United Church of Christ (White Church) Cemetery in rural Okawville.

Friends may call at St. Peter's church on Saturday, April 11 from 10 A.M. until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter's United Church of Christ and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
