Alice Bley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Linnemann Funeral Home - Erlanger on Jan. 3, 2026.
Alice Faye (Ramsey) Bley, Beloved Mom, Grandma or (Aunt) Faye. Born in a log cabin on May 16, 1935 in Cynthiana, KY. Leaving us on December 31, 2025 at 90 years old. Raised as the 4th of 10 siblings, she leaves 3 remaining siblings with us, Larry, Gwen, Cynthia and a loving sister in law, Shirley. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Roy Ramsey and Cora Frances (Crosthwaite) Ramsey and 6 siblings, Sonia, Jim (Jr.), Gloria, Judy, Warner, Debbie and husband of 59 years, Francis Joseph Bley. She grew her family with a son, Daniel, grandson Brandon Phillips, and daughter Mary (Steve) Bridewell and grandchildren Cory, Allyson and Christopher.

Faye was her preferred name. She worked hard all her life and ultimately ended up at the IRS and after 17 years of service retired at 70 years old.

She had a few hobbies, painting ceramics and crocheting being her favorites. When she started with a hobby, she wanted to share it with everyone. Many ceramics have adorned her shelves as well as all her family's including an entire ceramic 8 inch tall Christmas Manger set, Christmas trees and many other items. She crocheted a blanket for every relative she could plus extras. She also loved to cook, spoiled her dogs and adored her flowers, especially her knock-out rose bush of 3 different colors.

In her 80s, she discovered a love of reading and doing Wordsearch on her ipad. She was thrilled to go to the public library and get as many as 15 books at a time! On Wordsearch she ended on level 23,757, no one could catch up to her!

She loved to spend time with her family at picnics and other gatherings but also playing games. Early on with card games, Rummy and Uno and later Scrabble (with her dictionary to "cheat" with) and Yahtzee. She also loved "Family Dinner" with her siblings and extended family and anytime anyone wanted to take her out or bring her food. She loved a little strawberry wine, "just a little," and even an occasional sip of moonshine.

She was a light in this world and will be missed by many.

A visitation will be held January 9th at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, KY from 5PM-8PM. A morning mass will be held at St. Henry at 10AM January 10th with a burial to St.Mary cemetery to follow.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cincinnati Children's Hospital in Alice's name.
