Alice Faye Carson

Mother Alice Faye Carson at the age of 83, as affectionately known went to see her Lord on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, surrounded by her family. Alice was born on July 13, 1940, in Eagle Mills, Arkansas to the late William and Francis Cones.
Mother Alice attended Bearden Public Schools. After high school, her family moved to Grand Rapids in the early 60s where she graduated from Davenport College. Alice met the love of her life, the late Sherman Carson, Sr. They married in 1961. To this union, five children were born into this beautiful family.
Mother Alice became a member of the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. W.L Hunt. Over 60 years, Mother Alice was a member of the Senior Choir, Senior Missionary Board, Mother's Board, Superintendent of Sunday School and Teacher, Church Trustee, Vacation Bible School Teacher, and Director, and was an active member of the Michigan General Baptist State Convention Choir and State Convention Missionary. Mother Alice's favorite song to sing was "I got a feeling everything will be alright".
Mother Alice worked for Muskegon Heights Public Schools for over 30 years and held various positions throughout the district. She was loved by so many students, staff, and parents.
Mother Alice loved to fellowship with her Christian buddies the late Mother Daisy Jones, Mother Jessie Williams, and Mother Addie Fox. They were the Christian Rolling Stones. From church meetings to attending the United Conference For Women. Mother Alice also enjoys spending the weekends in Grand Rapids with her siblings and special cousins. Their bonds were inseparable.
Mother Alice had a heartfelt passion for singing in the choir, babysitting her grand and great grandchildren, visiting the sick and shut in, and attending family gatherings.
Mother Alice leaves in memory her four daughters: Pamela F. Watson, Novi, MI; Cheryl (Eric) Mosley, Grand Rapids, MI; Wanda (Rickey) Love, Grand Rapids, MI; and Bridgetta Carson of Muskegon, MI. One son, Sherman Lamar Carson, Jr of Muskegon Heights, MI, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. One special Godson, Allen D. Sims of Louisville, KY.
Three siblings: Evelyn (Lindell) Whitfield, Vera Nelson, and Larry (Terri) Cones, all of Grand Rapids, MI. Two in-laws; Andrew (Velma) Carson and the late Rosiena (Amos) Pickens of Muskegon, MI. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Mother Alice was preceded in death by her parents, William and Frances Cones, husband, Sherman Carson, Jr, sister, Jeannette Patterson, brothers, Norman and John Cones; and 2 granddaughters, Frances Carson and Jalisa Love.
