Alice Collins Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home - Chambersburg on Jan. 5, 2026.
Alice E Collins, 99, of Fannettsburg, PA, passed away January 1, 2026.

She was born July 14, 1926, in Spring Run, PA, the daughter of John V. and Glenna I. (Mutersbaugh) Guyer.

Alice is survived by her son, Keith Collins and his wife, Laurie. In addition to her son, Alice is survived by her granddaughters Shannon Martin and Heather Winders. Alice dearly loved her four great grandchildren, Dalton Martin, Samantha Martin, Lane Winders and Aiden Winders, and step grandson, Phillip Godel, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd S. Collins, and siblings John Guyer, Norman Guyer, Cora Miller, Robert Guyer, Lewese Andrew.

Alice was a member of Mountain Green United Methodist Church her entire life until it's closing in November 2011. Throughout her life, Alice was committed to volunteering her time with various organizations in her community. Mt. Green U.M. church, Lady's Aid, Cub Scouts, Lioness Club, Fannett Metal Fire Company (Life Member), Metal Twp Fire and Ambulance Company (Life Member) and many others too numerous to name, were among those who could count on her service and dedication. For decades, Alice could be found working in some form or another at local events like the Path Valley Picnic, Metal Twp Fire and Ambulance All You Can Eat Breakfast, various meals they served, and the Fannettsburg Fest. When not volunteering her time, Alice enjoyed bird watching and baking cakes and pies. Without a doubt, Alice's legacy within the community is going to be the memory of how delicious her much coveted coconut cream pies were!

We quote Alice with her own words…"I enjoy doing whatever I can to help someone."

A memorial service will be held at Metal Township Fire and Ambulance on January 10, 2026. Keith and Laurie will receive visitors between 10 - 11, followed by a brief service at 11. Light refreshments will be served afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alice's name may be made to Metal Township Fire and Ambulance Company, located at 10862 Path Valley Road, Fannettsburg, PA 17221
