Audrey L. Coons

Audrey L. Coons, 91, a former long-time resident of Fannettsburg, passed away March 6, 2026 in Embassy of Woodland Park, Orbisonia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Coons.

Audrey was born December 13, 1934, in Neelyton, a daughter of the late John and Dora (Goshorn) Robinson. Her family recalled how she worked on the family farm in Fannettsburg helping her husband and raising her family. After farming both she and her husband took employment at Carlisle Tire and Rubber until his passing in 1989. After that she became a nurse's aide working in several facilities including the Shook Home in Chambersburg.

Mrs. Coons had attended Shady Pine Church. Aside from her other activities she enjoyed quilting and donating a number of quilts to the Metal Township Fire and Ambulance Company. Although she was a hard worker, when it came time for vacations, being with her family was a joy to good to pass up and off they would go, sometimes to Florida or the shore.

Surviving are her children, Stanley E. Kohr, (Sue), Dry Run, Randy Kohr, (Mel), Newville and Diane Coons, Fannettsburg. 7 grandchildren, Jeremy, Brandon, Shawnda, Katie, Kandace, Adam and Cody, 1 great granddaughter, Deidre and a great great grandson, Jaxsen. Also surviving is her sister, Maxine Horn, Shippensburg. She was preceded in death by a son, Carl Coons, 2 brothers, Chet and Theron Robinson and 2 sisters, Gloria Johnson and Althea O'Donnell.
