Alice Jane Dayton passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the age of 85-years-old. Born on September 22, 1939, in Kansas City, Missouri, Alice Jane was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

A “25-year-old traveling girl” at heart, Alice had a love for visiting different cities and exploring other countries. She graduated from Manual High and Vocational School in June 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri, and later moved to California in 1966. She worked for Southern California Gas Company in the Special Accounts Department for 30 years. After retiring in 1997, she moved back to her hometown of Kansas City, Missouri. She then worked for the Internal Revenue Service and after her second retirement from there, she worked part time as a care giver for others at their home.

For most of her life, Alice Jane had a love for serving Jehovah God. She dedicated her life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 17, 1970. She faithfully served Jehovah uninterrupted for the past 55 years, until her death. Being that “25-year-old traveling girl”, over the years, she would attend numerous assemblies, regional & district conventions; and even international conventions, where on occasions she was selected to serve as a delegate from the United States in the country hosting the convention. Another quality that defined Alice’s dedication to Jehovah, was her love of preaching, and teaching others about God’s Kingdom. She had the privilege of serving as a regular pioneer, tirelessly setting an example in the ministry for others in the congregation, from September 1, 2007, to her death. Her strong love for Jehovah and her friends provided her guidance throughout her life.

Alice Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Silas D. Jr. and Marie Jackson; her brother, James David Jackson; and her nephew, James David Payne.

Alice Jane leaves behind a legacy of love and memories. She is survived by her sons: Vernon Dayton and Terry Jackson of California; daughters: Connie Moore and Donna Jackson of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Silas D. Jackson III of Florida; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, five nieces, four nephews; dear friends: Rachel Hight (daughter), Antiono (son) and Sherri Bryant, Mike and Teresa Kesterke, Kathleen Johnson, and Ruby Williams; as well as a host of other family and friends.
