Alice M. (Banville) Deschenes, 99

June 5, 1926 – July 30, 2025

Peabody – Alice M. (Banville) Deschenes, 99, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. She was the beloved wife of the late Roger Deschenes.

Born in Salem, Alice was the daughter of the late Napoleon Banville and Ida (Gagnon) Banville. A bookkeeper for many years, Alice worked for J.M Fields department stores, Salem House and Window Cleaning Co, and Banville Optical in Salem Ma. She was a Cub Scout leader for several years and enjoyed watching sports, especially the Boston Bruins. Alice and her husband Roger enjoyed traveling and exploring new restaurants on Saturday nights.

Alice is survived by her children: Donald Deschenes and his wife Cheryl of Haverhill, MA, and Donna Deschenes of Rochester, NH; her granddaughter, Lindsay 'Brie' Deschenes; and her brother Ken Banville and his wife Chris of Peabody, MA and nieces Lori, Patti, Vicki, and Valerie. She was predeceased by her son, Roger "Butch" Deschenes.

Visiting hours will be held in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St Salem, MA on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. Relatives and friends are also invited to meet at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody for a graveside services on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 10 a.m. Memorial donations may be made in Alice's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
