Alice Devivo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kindrich-McHugh Steinbauer Funeral Home from Nov. 25 to Nov. 28, 2025.
Thomas "Tom" Franklin Cochran, 78, of Aurora, OH passed away November 24, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Oswald, WV to Dennis and Merrill Cochran on March 24, 1947. He graduated Mount Hope High School in 1965. He was attending Beckley College when he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1967. Tom proudly served his country for four years during the Vietnam era. Tom carried the warmth of his roots with him throughout his life; a friendly smile, a generous heart, and a welcome for everyone he met.

After his service, he continued a strong work ethic that defined him, helping his father with the family plumbing business and various other jobs before dedicating 34 years (1981–2015) to the Austin Powder Company. He approached every job, whether large or small with reliability, humility, and a willingness to lend a hand.

He married the love of his life, Margaret "Missy" Cochran, and together they shared 56 years of partnership, laughter, and devotion. Tom was a storyteller, told a joke like it was his job, and was the kind of man who could brighten a room with his presence. He loved fishing, loved his friends deeply, and was fiercely protective of the people he cherished. Above all, he treasured his family. Being "Papa" to his beloved granddaughters brought him some of the greatest joy of his life.

Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Missy; his daughter, Helen Ross, and son-in-law Greg Ross; his son, Thomas Franklin Cochran Jr., and daughter-in-law Michelle Cochran; and his adored granddaughters, Haley Ross, Reagan Cochran, Riley Cochran, and Reese Cochran. He also leaves behind a large set of in laws, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends who felt more like family.

Tom enjoyed working with Junior Achievement while living in Beckley, WV. One of his biggest passions was fishing. It didn't matter whether it was Lake Erie, Gulf of Mexico, Hinton, WV, or the Catch and release at Sunny Lake Park. One time he even fished his brother-in-law from a river. The best times he had fishing was with his granddaughters. He taught them the art of baiting their own hooks and entered many fishing tournaments with them.

His other passion was family trips. He enjoyed every family vacation especially if it included his granddaughters. Tom cruised the Caribbean, cycled Hilton Head, and fished Indian Lake with his family in tow.

Tom was once described as someone who you could trust with your money. He was loving and loyal. Known for his generosity, kindness, and ever-willing spirit, Tom lived a life defined by helping others, protecting those he loved, and spreading joy through simple, genuine moments. His legacy lives on not only in his family but also in the stories he told, the smiles he inspired, and the love he poured into those lucky enough to know him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH, 44110. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Hospice of Western Reserve.

Visitation will be held at Kindrich-McHugh Steinbauer Funeral Home, 33375 Bainbridge Rd, Solon OH 44139 on Friday December 12, 2025 at 10 a.m.-11:30 with services to immediately follow at 11:30AM-12noon with Fr. David Ullrich, OMI officiating.

A private family burial will be held at a later date.
