Alice Elizabeth Kane Driskill, of Southport, NC, passed away on September 5, 2025. She was born in St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains, New York, on June 26, 1942 to Marjorie Weir Kane of Haverstraw, NY, and Vincent Nugent Kane of Kingston, Ontario.

After graduating from White Plains High School, Alice attended Ladycliff College in Highland Falls, New York. She was employed with the Girl Scouts of Westchester County for three years, and the Board of Cooperative Education Services of Southern Westchester in Rye Brook, New York for twenty-three years. In addition to living in White Plains, New York, she resided in Waccabuc, New York, and Newtown, CT. After retiring on August 30, 2010, she relocated to Southport, NC, with her then husband, Thomas Robert Bookless, whom she met at the Home Savings Bank in White Plains, New York where they both were employed. She was married to Tom from August 26, 1966 to until his passing on February 2, 2015.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Bill Driskill, who married Alice on August 28, 2020, in Southport, NC. Their time together was impactful, and memories will last forever. In addition to her husband, her loving children, Allison Bookless, Thomas Bookless, Todd Bookless (Meredith); her granddaughter, Emma Bookless, and Mike and Robin Driskill will keep her memory alive.

Alice, always caring for others, volunteered at the St. James Library and Southport Meals for Wheels.

A Funeral Mass will be at noon on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Southport.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Southport Meals on Wheels, research for Parkinson's disease (Michael J. Fox Foundation), or any animal rescue.
