Alice Friedlein, age 88, of Carroll, Iowa, formerly of Sun City Center, FL and Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on August 2, 2025. She was known for her positive attitude and constant energy. An avid golf and tennis player; weather permitting, she could be found on the court, fairway or green. Alice served as President of the Caloosa 18-Hole Women's Golf Association; 2014. Alice also enjoyed participating in several Bridge clubs in Sun City Center. While living in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Alice was heavily involved in Real Estate sales. Following their move to Sun City Center, Florida, Alice and her husband of 58 years, Walter became active members of the community and Alice volunteered with the many Egypt Shrine of Tampa, and Sun City Shrine Club activities. She is survived by her children, son Warren (Michele) Friedlein of Virginia Beach, Virginia, daughter Karen (Eric) Jensen of Carroll, Iowa. Grandchildren Soren (Emily) Jensen of Columbus, Nebraska and Arrington Jensen of Boston, Massachusetts. sister Frances J. Burton of Richmond, Virginia, sister-in-law Jean Zipperer of Richmond, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter, brother-in-laws Thomas G. Burton and Dan Zipperer both of Richmond, Virginia and her parents William R. and Sue C. Johnson of Richmond, Virginia. Memorial service to be scheduled at a later date. The family asks that memorials be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children- Tampa, 12502 Pine Drive, Tampa, FL, 33612-9499. Arrangements are entrusted to the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com.
