Alice Bruton Hanible was born on January 15, 1932, in Orlando, Florida, to Isaiah Bruton Sr. and Susie Kilpatrick Bruton.
She completed her education in Orange County, where she later met the man who would become her beloved husband. Alice married James Theodore Hanible Sr., and they remained devoted to one another until his passing in 1955.
Following her husband's death, Alice worked as a housekeeper for several families throughout Orange County, demonstrating strength, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family.
In 1970, Alice began working for the Walt Disney World Company, a year before its grand opening in 1971. She was part of the original housekeeping team, preparing rooms in anticipation of the opening day. When Disney World officially opened, Alice started a s a lead housekeeper and, through hard work and commitment, rose to the position of manager before retiring.
In 2003, Alice began volunteering at Bridge to Independence Private School, where she generously gave her time and energy to support students and staff. She continued her volunteer work faithfully until her health began to decline.
Alice was a devoted member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served in multiple roles, including Deaconess, Trustee, Choir Member, and Sunday School Teacher. She had a special passion for working with the youth and young adults, nurturing their spiritual growth and development. In addition to her service at Zion Hill, Alice actively participated in various Bible study groups throughout Orlando, earning several certificates in recognition of her dedication to studying and living out the Word of God.
Alice loved to travel, spend time with her family, and share her insights from Sunday School commentary every Saturday with her beloved niece, Debra Allen. These moments of reflection and connection were especially meaningful to her and those she shared them with.
Alice Hanible will forever be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her church, and the wisdom she so generously shared. Her legacy lives in the countless lives she touched-especially in the hearts of her eleven children and her beloved bonus child.
