Alice Johnson Obituary
Alice M. Johnson, age 80, of Wawaka, passed away Thursday June 19, 2025, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville, Indiana.
Alice was born March 29, 1945 to Raymond and Carlie (Arnold) Hicks in Jolo, West Virginia. She was married to Kenneth Ray Johnson on February 1, 1981, in Cromwell, Indiana.
Alice was a wonderful loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed taking care of her children and her home as well as crocheting. She babysat many children over the years. Alice was an extremely giving person and was always happy to open her home to anyone who needed it.
Alice is survived by her children, Jennings Ray White Jr. of Wawaka, Ronnie (Celia) White of Ligonier, Michael (Margarita) White of Wawaka; grandchildren, Raquel (Austin) Murray of North Webster, Connor (Brittney) White of Quincy, MI, Jacqueline White of Wawaka; great-grandchildren, Aiden Murray of North Webster, Devan Joseph White of Quincy, MI; siblings, Joshua Hicks of WV, Fronnie Payne of VA, Amos Hicks of WV, Harrison (Sandy) Hicks of Topeka, Lettie (Gran) Roberts of Ligonier and Ronald Hicks of Amboy; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her parents, her first husband, Jennings Ray White Sr.; a second husband, Kenneth Ray Johnson; a grandson, Devan Christopher White; a sister, Clara Johnson; and a brother, Russell Hicks.
A visitation for family and friends will take place on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 4-7 PM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S., Ligonier, IN 46767 and on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 4-6 PM at Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church, 159 W. Greenwood Dr. Kendallville, IN 46755. A funeral service to celebrate Alice’s life will be on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 6 PM as well as on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 10 AM, both located at Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church, 159 W. Greenwood Dr. Kendallville, IN 46755.
Memorial Donations may be made to the Devan Christopher White Memorial Fund at The Community Foundation of Noble County.
