Alice June LaCroix

Alice June (Reid) LaCroix, age 65, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham, Massachusetts, with her loving family by her side. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts on March 11, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Ruth (Piper) Reid. Alice was raised in Marlborough, Massachusetts, where she attended Marlborough Public Schools.
At the age of eighteen, Alice welcomed her son, Derek, and took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her young family. Alice was delighted to see her family grow a few years later, welcoming her daughter, Sara. When her children were young, Alice worked in various night positions to support her family. However, as Derek and Sara grew up, Alice turned to the day shift, working in a local grocery store. In 2009, Alice made her home in Hudson, Massachusetts, before settling in Walpole eleven years ago.
After settling in the Diamond Pond Community of Walpole, Alice looked forward to starting her day with two cups of coffee, followed by a hot cup of tea. As the day progressed, she settled in to watch her "stories," catching up on the gossip of her favorite soap operas. Some days were spent sitting by Clark's Pond with her partner Kevin, enjoying the wildlife and occasionally tossing her line into the water to see if the fish would bite. Her day was never complete without stopping by the local convenience store to try her luck with the Mass State Lottery.
Throughout her life, Alice loved listening to music, especially her favorite artists from the 50s and 60s. She turned the volume up whenever Bob Seger, the Beetles, Elvis, or the Bee Gees came on her radio. The tunes were always cranking on the way to Maine, where Alice loved spending family vacations by the coast.

Loving mother of Derek A. Reid and his wife, Christine, of South Grafton and Sara A. Collins and her husband, Michael, of Walpole.
Cherished grandmother of Lisa Reid, Eleanor Reid, Derek R. Reid all of South Grafton, Jewel Hatch, and Michael R. Collins both of Walpole.
Sister of Linda Risi of Marlborough, Ruth Armstrong and her husband, Robert, of Northborough, and the late Michael Reid.
Also survived by her beloved dog, Oliver.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Alice's Life Celebration on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 4 to 7 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.
Alice's funeral service and interment will be private at the request of her family.
