Alice Litwinovich Obituary

Alice Jean (Morse) Litwinovich, 77, a resident of Newton, NH died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 2, 2025, with her family by her side. The previous day was spent with family at their traditional early Thanksgiving picnic. She was the beloved wife of Robert Litwinovich.
Alice was born in Quincy, Massachusetts on June 5, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Richard and Helen (Schielke) Morse. As a young girl, Alice spent summers with her grandparents on a working farm in Guilford, Connecticut. There, she began a lifelong love of growing flowers and vegetables, caring for farm animals, observing wildlife, and traveling by train.
Alice graduated from Merrimack College in 1970 where she studied mathematics, helped in campus volunteer work, enjoyed English classes and going to hockey games with Bob.
Bob and Alice were married in 1971 and continued life's journey as a young family in the wonderment and happiness of becoming parents.
In following years, Alice and a close friend established a neighborhood pre-school. Alice also taught children in primary school grades and continued her teaching role as a high school librarian.
For many years, Alice and Bob and their two young children, David and Kerry, enjoyed weekends and vacations at their small cabin in the White Mountains, often with friends and family.
At home, Alice began volunteer work serving meals at a home shelter in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Her cooking, knitting, and sewing skills were known to many. She knit warm hats for schoolchildren and blankets for older people she visited on a regular basis. As a member of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish Alice served many. Her faith was a source of inner strength and purpose for herself and for others.
Alice loved being with her grandchildren; cooking, playing cards, reading, knitting, working in gardens, laughing, sitting and talking with them lightly or seriously, making plans, and resting at the end of the day.
Alice is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Kerry Renner and her husband Albert of Hailey, Idaho, son David Litwinovich and his wife Shellie of New Boston, New Hampshire, grandchildren Levi, Avery, Josephine, and Piper, brother Richard Morse and sister Sandy Burbank, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 2pm – 4pm at the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 10am at Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish (Mary Mother of the Church) 12 Amesbury Road, Newton, NH. Interment will follow at Saint Patrick's Cemetery in Haverhill, MA.
Memorial donations may be made to Emmaus (give.emmausinc.org/give/438282/#!/donation/checkout), Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish Food Pantry (https://stlukenh.org/), or to the charity of your choice.
