Ms. Alice Elsie McDuffie, age 78, of Sanford, NC entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, NC.
Alice was born in Sanford NC where she graduated from W.B. Wicker School and received her Nursing Degree from CCCC School of Nursing. She also attended Sandhills Community College. After receiving her LPN Degree, she traveled to various states working in hospitals and Nursing Homes for many years before returning to Sanford to care for her late mother.
She was a faithful member of St. Mark United Church of God for more than 45 years where she served as the President of the Missionary Board, President of the Usher Board at one time, Head of The Pastor's Aide Committee, and she also drove the church van every Sunday Morning picking up children in the community to attend Sunday School and morning service. Alice was a blessing to all that would hear wisdom from her. She grew from a child in the Word and she loved the Lord. She was very loving and caring and would go out of her way to help her family and those she loved. Attending Gospel Singing programs was one of her favorite things to do as well as listening to Gospel Quartet Singing, talking about the Lord, and explaining the Word of God to others.
Alice was highly intelligent and loved to learn. Growing up as a child, she would read the dictionary daily and meditate on the meaning of each word. She found joy in encouraging and motivating others to never give up on themselves and to always be honest, fair, kind, caring, and loving to everyone.
She was preceded in death by her father, Adville McDuffie; mother, Alice Newby McDuffie; sister, Eva McDuffie Williams; sister, Geneva McDuffie Hicks; brother, Robert McDuffie; and niece, Michelle McDuffie Reed.
She leaves behind her daughters, Carla Campbell Moore and Stephanie Campbell; one brother, Wayne McDuffie; grandchildren, Markia Williams, Malia Williams, Britney Moore, and Carson Moore; one great-grandchild, Braylin Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews. Alice will be missed by many who loved her dearly.
