Alice Anita Melton born February 19, 1940 departed this life on Monday – September 29, 2025 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 85-years old. Alice was born in Acup, Kentucky the daughter of the late Bill Thomas and the late Mattie Combs Thomas. Other than her parents, Alice was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Melton and three brothers, Eddie Loyall Thomas, Brownlow Thomas and Billy Doyle Thomas. Alice was a longtime member of the Avawam Church of Christ, her whole life was about her Lord & Savior, her children, grandchildren and family. Alice loved everyone fiercely, always wanting to help and care for others.

Alice Anita Melton leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: daughter, Angela Barnett & Timothy of Hazard, KY; son, Bobby Melton, Jr. & Marsha of Manchester, KY; grandchildren, Dustin Melton, Leah Newberry & Chris, Jordan Barnett, Brian Melton, Timmea Barnett, and Bryston Barnett; great-grandchildren, Evan Woods, Jeffery Bowling, Jasper Holliday, and Maverick Barnett; also a host of other relatives & many friends also survive.

Visitation for Alice Anita Melton will be held on Thursday – October 2, 2025 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 5:00 – 6:00 P.M. Funeral Services will begin at 6:00 P.M. with Garland Deaton officiating.
