With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Alice Faye Samuelson, who left this world peacefully on August 11, 2025, at the age of 74.

Born on May 27, 1951, in Park Rapids, Minnesota, Alice was the cherished daughter of William May and Lorna Krueger. She grew up surrounded by the beauty of the Northwoods and the warmth of a large, loving family. A proud graduate of Park Rapids High School and Wadena Technical College, Alice carried her strong work ethic and devotion to her church into every chapter of her life.

On July 2, 1973, Alice married the love of her life, Arnold Samuelson, in their hometown of Park Rapids. Together, they built a life rooted in partnership, laughter, and shared purpose. Side by side, they helped manage Arnie's Tire Service, where Alice's dedication and welcoming smile became a fixture in the community.

Alice's passions were simple and sincere-cheering on her beloved Minnesota sports teams (especially the Vikings), playing spirited games of cards, and baking her famous waffle cookies that became a treasured tradition for generations. But above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Her love was fierce, her hugs unforgettable, and her presence a constant source of comfort and strength.

She is survived by her devoted husband Arnold; her sons Jon (Christel) and Joe (Heather); grandchildren Alex, Foxx, Dylan, and Gryphin Samuelson, Taylor (Logan) Haarsager; great-grandchildren Elliannah, Watson, and baby Haarsager; and her siblings-sisters Claudia (Gary) Vick and Karen (Michael) Freeman, and brothers James (Nancy), Clifford (Gwen), Gary (Ilea), Larry (Rilla), and Bruce (Chris) May.

Alice now joins her parents William and Lorna in eternal rest, along with her siblings Gerald, Dennis, Donald (Joanne), Thomas May, Deanna May, Marilyn (Ben) Pickett, Betty (Gordon) Teigen, Billie (Marty) Cox, and sister-in-law Carol May.

Her urn will be lovingly carried by her sons Jon and Joe, with honorary bearers including Alex, Foxx, Taylor, Logan, Dylan, Gryphin, Elliannah, and Watson-each a living testament to the legacy of love she leaves behind.

Alice's life was a beautiful blend of kindness, resilience, and joy. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.

A memorial service for Alice Samuelson of Park Rapids will take place on Monday, August 25 at 2:00 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church in Park Rapids with a visitation 2 hours prior. Inurnment will be at Lemon Cemetery in Badoura.
