Whitt - Alice Gwen Efird Whitt, age 88, beloved wife of 58 years to the late Joesph M. Whitt, entered into rest on Tuesday January 14, 2025.
She is survived by her children, George Clayton "Clay" (Cindy) Whitt, Tamara Whitt Lott (Terry Hudson); grandchildren, Amanda (Robbie) Weathersbee, Daniel (Candace) Lott, Joseph (Sage) Whitt, Allison (John) Cogburn; great grandchildren, Remington Weathersbee, Kerington Weathersbee, Cooper Weathersbee, Lawson Lott, Charlotte Lott and Wells Whitt.
In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her parents, John A. Efird and Ethel Efird Thompson; step father, Fred Thompson; brothers, John (Avis) Efird, Alfred (Helen) Efird, Ray (Pat) Efird, Bobby (Sara) Efird; and sisters, Frances (Preston) Posey, Grace( Hugh) Alison.
Ms. Whitt, was a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Graniteville and was an Eastern Star. She was a past Worthy Matron. She was also an avid Lander University Baseball fan and from 2015 - 2019 she never missed a home or an away game. Mrs. Whitt was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
The family will gather to receive friends on Sunday afternoon January 19, 2025 from 2-4pm at Napier Funeral Home & Crematory. No formal service will be arranged.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lander University Baseball Program in Memory of Alice E. Gwen Whitt, at: The Lander Foundation - Baseball; 320 Stanley Ave. Greenwood, SC 29649.
