Alice Moore Williams, aged 87, went home to be in the presence of her Savior on September 28, 2024, in Augusta, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family. She was a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew her and will be remembered for her kindness and her love of and commitment to family.
Alice was born on December 11, 1936, to the late Harold and Margaret Gray Moore in the New Salem community of Lookout Mountain. As a devoted wife of over 63 years, she is survived by her beloved husband, William Joseph Williams. They created a lifetime of memories through their love of travel, meeting new friends everywhere they went, and playing golf together. Alice is also survived by her children, Jeffrey Williams and two granddaughters of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Bianca (John) Perrin and four grandsons of Evans, Georgia, as well as her sister, Blenda Ledford of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her sister, Bernadine Smith.
The legacy of Alice Moore Williams will be honored during a funeral service at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2024, in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Hawkins Cemetery in New Salem. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the service begins.
Alice's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and connection. She was a proud military wife who loved the Lord, her family, and her country. She lived life to the fullest and boy was she competitive. She was a successful X-ray Technician getting her start at Erlanger Hospital and continued working at various hospitals until Bill’s last overseas tour. She was always ready for some good Mexican food and loved being at the beach or attending family reunions on the mountain. In her later years, she truly enjoyed the love and support of her Sunday School class and church family. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will carry forth the values she embodied and the love she shared. Alice will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Alice's memory to the Alzheimer's Association or to the American Heart Association.
