In Loving Memory of Alicia Soveranez
December 1, 1926 - February 14, 2025
Alicia Soveranez, a beloved resident of Santa Fe, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the remarkable age of 98. She was called to her heavenly home, leaving behind a legacy of love and family. Born on December 1, 1926, in Canones, New Mexico, to David Salazar and Delfinia Martinez, Alicia's life was one of devotion and dedication. At the young age of 16, she married her beloved husband, Abelino Soveranez, and together they embarked on a journey of raising a large and loving family in Santa Fe. Their home was filled with the joy and laughter of 16 children – 9 sons and 7 daughters. Alicia was a devout Catholic, known for her sweet and compassionate nature, she possessed a warm heart that embraced all who knew her. A constant presence at sporting events, she was a dedicated supporter of her family, always there to cheer them on. Family was the center of Alicia's world, and she took great pride in nurturing strong family values that have been passed down through generations. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Alicia was preceded in death by her husband, Abelino Soveranez; her children, Virginia Soveranez, David Soveranez, Ferminia Najera, Andrew Soveranez, Louie Soveranez, and Jeff Soveranez; and her grandchildren, Ernesto Najera, Marcos Rivera, and Elijah Henry. Parents; David Salazar and Delfinia Martinez. Siblings; David Salazar, Mike Salazar, and Angelina Lovato
She leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her children: Daughter-in-law Anna Soveranez, Marcella & Mike Romero, Phyllis & Eddie Romero, Art Soveranez, Ben Soveranez & Arleen Godbey, Joann & Tony Martinez, Barbara Soveranez, Robert and Monica Soveranez, Daniel Soveranez, Paula & Frank Padilla, Allen Soveranez & Melissa Martinez. Grandchildren; David Ray & Tammy, Felicia & Ryan, Michelle, Lisa, Joseph, John, Matt & Andrea, Brian, Christopher, Samuel, Ben Jr. & Liz, Letisha, Nikki & Kyle, Lisa, Tony Jr, Ryan, Ricco, Natasha, Elijah, Emilio, Enrique, Manuel, Derrick, Donald & Erica, Brenda & Joey, Raquel, Patrick, Emily, Alisha, Isaiah, Antonio & Britanie, Mishanda & Andrew, Estevan, Leonard, Santana, Ryan, Aryana, Josh, Jeremy & Heaven.

Great-great-grandchildren Azariah, Alaya, Alazae, Angelo, Baby girl on the way. Sisters; Rosabel Salazar, Connie Salazar, and Adelires Jaquez. And many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be: Paula Soveranez, Phyllis Romero, Marcella Romero, Barbara Soveranez, Joann Martinez, and Anna Soveranez. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Art Soveranez, Ben Soveranez, Robert Soveranez, Daniel Soveranez, Allen Soveranez, and David Ray Soveranez.
A Rosary will be recited at St. John's Church on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 10:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Interment will follow immediately at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Reception to follow at St. John's Parish Hall.
