It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Alida Joan Schatz (née Hogan), who died peacefully on May 9, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on December 18, 1941, in Ancaster, Ontario, Alida devoted her life to caring for others. A dedicated nurse, she brought compassion, patience, and warmth to every life she touched. Preceded in death by her husband, Alan. Devoted mother to Sean (Melanie) Smith, Sarah (Mike) Pasquesi and stepmother to Kristin (Chip) Wolf and Doug Schatz. A proud grandmother to Fiona and Lucy Smith, Sam, Oliver and Simon Pasquesi, and Katie, Kassie, and Chad Wolf. She was a sister as well as a loyal friend. She had a special place in her heart for dogs, and her home was never without a faithful four-legged companion.
She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and quiet resilience. Her memory will be cherished deeply by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she has left this world, her spirit remains in the countless lives she touched.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 12th. Please contact the family for more information. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Alida's memory to the Clermont County Animal Shelter.
