Memorial services for Alisanne Tinsley Nerren, 66, of Huntington, will be held Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in
Lufkin, Texas, with Cody Blake officiating.
Alisanne was born on March 30, 1959, in
Lufkin, Texas, to Lamar Tinsley and Claudia (Roberts) Tinsley, and died Monday, November 10, 2025, at her home in Granbury, Texas.
Alisanne was the cutest little girl. She had black hair, twinkly brown eyes and an impish little smile. From the start, she marched to the beat of a different drummer. Her early language skills resulted in some funny names with her big sister becoming Be Hee and her grandmother becoming Tee Tee. She was self-sufficient early on and would come in from school every day, head for the kitchen to make her favorite dish, lettuce dipped in Miracle Whip. She could climb like a monkey, and many days she would manage to reach the top shelf of her closet where Be Hee's treasured paper dolls were hidden. She created a little chaos in those days. But then she grew up, married and eventually had four amazing daughters. She was a calm, loving and tolerant mother who enjoyed her girls and enjoyed celebrating their many achievements. She was the first mother to volunteer to make cookies or cakes for the bake sale, chaperone the bus for out-of-town school events and made fabulous homecoming mums. When time allowed, Alisanne loved her romance novels and Hallmark movies and she was a crafter extraordinaire, always busy making seasonal wreaths or cross-stitching beautiful works of art. Like her mother, she had a bent for the artistic, done to perfection.
She was excited to visit and explore parts of the world while visiting her daughter, who was stationed in Europe, and she enjoyed every minute of it. She adored her eight grandchildren and enjoyed their sports and academic achievements and celebrating their every milestone. Close to her heart were her sons-in-laws who love her daughters and were instrumental in providing those perfect grandchildren. Alisanne loved days spent at the Canton Trade Days, especially if she was in the company of her girls or her dear friends, Patricia, Ethelene or Vicky.
She really loved her work too, where she worked long hours and worked hard. She was a dream employee, but hard to keep up with. She was a great cook too who didn't think twice about making a complete Thanksgiving dinner for her elderly friends, then making the same for her family. She was famous among family for her yummy Christmas jam, and chicken and dumplings.
She was a warrior, who beat cancer twice. Alisanne will be remembered always as the stubborn, generous, brave and fearless woman she was. We will tell her stories, and she will not be forgotten. Her spirit will continue to live in the hearts of all who loved her.
Alisanne is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alicia and Shane Howatt of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Skyler Davenport of Granbury; daughter and fiancé, Victoria Hutto and Casey Moore of Lufkin; daughter, Elizabeth Adams of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Serenity King of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Kendall Howatt of Lufkin; grandson, Channing Howatt of Lufkin; granddaughter, Avery Hutto of Lufkin; granddaughter, Scarlett Howatt of Lufkin; grandson, Levi Adams of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Harriet Davenport of Granbury; grandson, Sebastian Davenport of Granbury; sister, Meredith Brant of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, David and Sue Tinsley of Huntington, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
