Alison is in my thoughts on a daily basis. There are two angels by the very same name that consume my thoughts as often as light connects with my eyes; my now passed daughter and Alison Finch. I hope that there are others that are able to conceal their memories as I do. What may seem as an ongoing curse, is actually a blessing. For these memories keep them with us...forever. Here is my short-lived but deeply branded story of Alison Finch, she's watching over us.
Alison and I went to grade school together and always had a connection. Of course as children we chased each other, called each other names, typical child-like playing. Yet we were friends from the second we spoke. Years passed and we grew older, growing closer as time went on. She just got more and more beautiful the older she became. And I don't just mean her looks. Alison was one of those once in a lifetime cool chicks that had a personality that was as amazing as her presence. Alison used to be a part of our circle and hung out with us all the time, mostly at the "Beasley Party House." She was gorgeous, she liked the same music as we did, (insert: "I Hate It Too" by the band Hum which she would make me play every time she rode in my car...and I never minded whatsoever,) and it wouldn't have been right without her there. It's safe to admit that I always had a crush on her; but looking back now, I think it was way beyond that. I guess that's why I was so shocked when she asked ME to go to the prom with her! One of the most incredible things that has ever happened to me. Still, I was apprehensive about telling her how I felt. I'd known the guys that she dated and I wasn't like any of them. Still, she asked me. I will never forget the silver dress she wore that night. My heart and soul literally melted when she walked out to greet me; I was speechless. I know that had she lived, I would have pursued her. I think I lost my soulmate...at seventeen. RIP baby girl, I'll find you again. Robbie
