Allan “Dale” Leonard, a beloved father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on January 19, 2025, in Rustburg, Virginia, at the age of 63. Dale was born on February 23, 1961, and his journey through life was marked by love, dedication, and a deep pride in his family.

Dale served his country in the Marine Corps in 1979, a testament to his commitment and bravery. After his military service, he dedicated himself to his family, which he considered his proudest accomplishment. Allan had a particular joy in spending time with his grandchildren, who brightened his days and filled his heart with happiness. He cherished the bonds he shared with them, creating memories that will be treasured by those he leaves behind.

Dale is survived by his three loving daughters: Kayla-Anne Foster, Ariel Dawn Hawley, and Nichole Alexandria Leonard (Chad). He was a devoted grandfather to Gracie Wright, Steven E. Foster, Jaxon Foster, Liam Hawley, Nataleigh Wright, and Paisley Leonard. Dale also leaves behind his brother, Danny Ray Leonard, who will remember him fondly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary-Anne Mitchell, and his brother, Bobby Brown. 

A celebration of Dale's life will be held at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, on Thursday, January 23, 2025. The service will begin at 1:30 PM.
