Allan Gurley Obituary

Allan lived a full life marked by hard work, passion, and deep faith. A 1974 graduate of Mainland Senior High, he dedicated 17 years of service to the Volusia County School Board and later owned and operated his own painting business-a venture that showcased his skill, integrity, and strong work ethic.
Allan was well known for his love of drag racing. A true enthusiast, he built his own hot rod and found joy whether he was behind the wheel driving it or working and tinkering on it under the hood. Speed and precision brought him much happiness. He was also a loyal Miami Dolphins fan and supported his team with unwavering enthusiasm and loyalty.
Faith played the largest and most important part in Allan's life. A devoted Christian, he loved his Lord and Savior deeply and carried his faith with him every day. His family and friends take comfort in knowing he is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Allan had a deep love for animals, especially his beloved little dog, Daisy, who was his constant companion.
Allan is survived by his loving wife, Clare Gurley; son, Allan Gurley; mother, Doris Gurley; father, Steve Allan Gurley; brothers, Steve C. Gurley and Dean T. Gurley; grandchildren, Lexi Bidwell, Allan Shane Gurley Jr., and Lacey Gurley; great-grandsons, Gavin and Mason.
A memorial service will be held Friday September 26, 2025 4:00pm at Tomoka Christian Church 1450 Hand Avenue, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174
Allan will be remembered for his big heart, strong faith, and the legacy of love and loyalty he leaves behind.
