Allen Dale Daniels, age 76 of Montello passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. Allen was born in Portage to Dale and Betty (Wells) Daniels on June 6, 1949. He graduated form Montello High School in 1968 and proudly served our country as a member of the United States Army. Upon returning to Montello following his time in service, Allen held a few jobs locally before becoming a heavy equipment operator. He was united in marriage on June 23, 1973 to Gail Brockhaus at Trinity United Methodist Church in Montello and together they were blessed with two children. Allen retired in 2019 following a 35 year career as a member of Local #139. In retirement, he worked alongside his brother, Dennis.
Allen had many hobbies; in his younger years he was an ice racer, in his later years he enjoyed gardening and an avid hunter and fisherman his entire life. He and Gail enjoyed riding their motorcycle and spending time with family. Allen will be remembered for work ethic and unique sense of humor.
Allen is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gail and two children: Jody (fiance Keith Poulter) Daniels of South Carolina and Kelly (Amber Hlinovsky) Daniels of Montello as well as five grandchildren: Michael Goodwin, Tonisha (Alex) Zellmer, Ken Ross, Vanessa Jones and Kylie Daniels. He is also survived by great-grandson, Matthew, two brothers: Dennis (Linda) and Dick (Bridgette) and other extended family members.
Allen is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Gary, Thomas, Dan and Scott, sister, Mary as well as two nephews: Travis and Gary Paul.
A visitation for Allen Daniels will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 12:30 until 2:30 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. There will be a brief time of sharing of memories by the family at 2:30 PM. A celebration of his life will follow at Granite Falls in Montello. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Budda-Box, PO Box 591, Montello, WI 53949.
