Crawford Funeral and Cremation Service - MontelloPaul Everett Weldon, age 84 of Montello (White Lake) passed away peacefully Friday, March 13, 2026 at Randolph Health Services. Paul was born in Stevens Point on February 13, 1942 to Ansel and Angie (Petersen) Weldon. After graduating from Amherst High School in 1960, he enlisted into the United States Marine Corp. and proudly served his country for 4 years.
Paul met LuAnn Miller of Ripon and the two married on November 9, 1974 at the Candlelight Chapel in Reno, Nevada. They settled in the heart of the Redwoods in Redway, California for 18 years. Paul had many jobs throughout his working career: he worked as a millwright, sewer and water manager, and following an injury he became a real estate appraiser and lastly working in maintenance for the USDA. Paul retired in 2000.
Paul and LuAnn moved back to Wisconsin in 1993 settling near Lake Wisconsin and in 2004 built their retirement home on White Lake Drive. Everywhere Paul lived he got involved in things he believed in. While in California he volunteered at the local fire department, served on his church board and was a member of the VFW. Most noticeably he was elected Kiwanis Lt. Governor for CA/NV/Hawaii Division for 2 years. In Wisconsin, he was an active member and officer of the Portage Elks Club for several years as well as member and officer of American Legion Post #351 of Montello and the Princeton VFW.
Paul's hobbies consisted of collecting older beer signs, 45 vinyl records, CD's, and buying and repairing older jukeboxes. He was an avid deer hunter, loved to fish, work on and drive his 1950 Mercury, go camping and travel. He went on trips to Alaska, Florida, Hawaii, various cruises and to South Padre Island, Texas. Paul especially liked to volunteer at the Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King. He volunteered for ten years taking veteran's fishing on a pontoon boat, playing cribbage and assisting in bingo games. In Paul's younger years, he loved to dance to Rock & Roll music and sing karaoke.
Paul is survived by his wife of almost 51 years, LuAnn and three children: Lance Weldon of Oregon, Gordon Young of Wautoma and Dawn (Todd) Finley of Ripon as well as grandson, Brandon (Katie) Mueller. He is also survived by great grandchildren: Madison, Maverick, Mackenna Mueller and sister, Linda (Richard) Packer, brother-in-law, Jim Bobbe, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Betty Bobbe, Barbara Pendergrass, Donna Harr, brothers: Louis Weldon, Sidney Weldon, Donald Weldon and nephew, Greg Weldon.
A memorial service for Paul Weldon will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Mecan. Visitation will be held from 9:30 until 10:45 AM at the church. Inurnment with full military honors will follow the service in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 825, Montello, WI 53949.
The Weldon family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Randolph Health Center and St. Croix Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.
