Allen Daum Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home on Oct. 25, 2025.

In Loving Memory of Allen C Daum.
Allen C. Daum, 84, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving wife, three children, and other family members.
Allen was born in Evansville, IN on September 6, 1941, the only child of Allen C. Daum Sr., and Mary Elizabeth Daum. With his mother passing away after given birth and his father overseas serving in WWII, he was raised in Tell City by his grandparents, Tom and Vevah Lasher. He was a 1961 graduate of Tell City High School, and a 1963 graduate of Lockyear Business College.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966, serving 18 months in Korea and attended the University of Maryland Far East Division.
After returning from Korea, Allen married Sue Hawkins on December 3, 1966.
Allen dedicated 51 years, working for Mulzer's Crushed Stone, retiring in 2015.
Allen will be greatly missed, by his loving wife of 59 years, Sue (Hawkins) Daum, of Tell City, IN; his children, Mary Beth Daum of Tell City, IN; Stacy Bateman (Tracy) of Hawesville, KY; Chris Daum (Mandy) of Boonville, IN; his grandchildren, Alisha Seibal (Ben), Ethan Patton (Sara), Ava Daum; and his great grandchildren, Karson and Xavier Patton, and Teddi Seibal.
Today we remember Allen-not just for the life he lived, but for the faith he carried. Allen entered into his rest and the immediate presence of the Savior whom he loved, trusted, and served since the day of his conversion. His life was a testimony to the truth of 2 Corinthians 5:7: "For we walk by faith, not by sight."
Allen's journey was marked by a quiet confidence in God's promises, even in the face of life's uncertainties. He lived with his eyes fixed not on what is seen, but on what is eternal-just as Colossians 3:2 encourages: "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."
Though we grieve his absence, we rejoice in the hope that Allen now sees clearly what he once embraced by faith. He is home, in the presence of the One who called him, sustained him, and now welcomes him with joy.
May Allen's legacy inspire us to live with the same unwavering trust in God, to walk by faith, and to keep our hearts anchored in the eternal
Services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Zoercher- Gillick Funeral Home with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm on Monday and from 9am until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Habitat for Humanity.
