In Loving Memory of
Allen R. Emm
September 6, 1964 – May 6, 2025
Terre Haute, Indiana
Allen R. Emm, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, at the age of 60. He was born on September 6, 1964, and was a beloved husband, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend—known for his strong will, direct nature, and unmistakable New York accent.
Later in life, Allen came to know Jesus Christ as his Savior, finding strength and comfort in his faith during his final years.
Originally from Syracuse, New York, Allen also spent time in Las Vegas, Nevada, before making his home in Terre Haute. He was opinionated and fiercely independent—never one to shy away from speaking his mind. His loud, proud New York accent was a signature of his bold personality.
Allen worked for many years as a maintenance supervisor, admired for his skill and dedication. He was always ready to lend a hand to friends and neighbors, especially when it came to repairing cars. He also had a passion for smoking meat and perfecting BBQ, a joy he shared with others through many meals and gatherings.
He is survived by his loving wife, Orlene Emm, who stood by his side through his illness with unwavering love and support; stepdaughters Kelly Sharkey (husband Shane) and Nicole Ventura (husband Joseph); and his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought light and joy to his life.
Allen was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister, brother, stepfather, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law. He also leaves behind children and siblings—while paths may have diverged, they remain part of his story.
During his illness, Allen was blessed with the care of his dear friend Candy, whose support brought comfort in his final days. The constant love and strength of his wife, Orlene, were a steady foundation throughout his journey.
Though Allen is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the memories and lives of those who loved him.
A private memorial will be held by the family to honor and reflect on his life.
