Allen Thad LeHew was born November 19, 1959 to Elmer and Joy LeHew in Culver City, California. Allen made the last rodeo on April 24, 2025. Anyone who knew Allen knew that he embodied what a cowboy should be. He always had the wit and manners of a true country gentleman. Allen was a raconteur and regaled many people with his stories of a colorful life. He was a farrier and horse trainer by trade among many other talents. He trained horses through the gentle release method and many considered him a horse whisperer. He will dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Allen is survived by two sons, Chad and Colby LeHew of Tennessee, sisters Brenda Van Ostrand (Bob) of Lake Havasu, Arizona, Shari Simmons (Mike) of Dardanelle and Lisa LeHew of North Little Rock, Arkansas and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Diane Hoefar, Patricia LeHew, Teresa LeHew and Pam Counts and his beloved Big Mama.
A celebration of life will be held May 17, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Scott & Gwen Hall's, 2740 Highway 31 N in Lonoke.
