Mr. Allen Russell McClaskey, age 84 of Brandon went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.
A Celebration of Allen’s Life will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 3:00pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with visitation starting at 2:00pm.
Allen was born in Mount Olive, IL to the late Donald McClaskey and Marie Harlan McClaskey. Allen moved his family to MS in the early 70's and has lived in Brandon for over 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson.
Allen was a hardworking man that took pride in his work. Upon moving to MS, he started Mid South Inventory Services. This lasted several years until he started working for the Madsion County CO-OP. Shortly after his retirement, Allen returned to work part time at the Rankin County CO-OP. His loyalty and work ethic has always been unmatched.
Allen loved to travel but most importantly he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years Mary Lynn McClaskey; children, Russell (Cathy) McClaskey, Randy (Brenda) McClaskey, Debbie (Bill) Shanks, and Jeff (Jean) McClaskey; stepchildren, Rhonda (Don) Ravenstein and Stephanie (Jim) Mayfield; sister Deloris Washburn and numerous brothers; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, five step grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife of 41 years, Linda McClaskey.
