Allen John Meyer passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on November 19, 1930, in Cuyahoga County, OH, Allen was the cherished son of the late Max E. Meyer and Mary L. Meyer (née Zmecek).
A proud United States Air Force First Class Airman and Korean War Veteran, Allen was honored with multiple service medals, including the Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation Medal. He graduated from Benedictine High School in Cleveland, OH, and later attended John Carroll University in University Heights, OH.
Allen dedicated his career to Gerber Baby Products as a Sales Representative and later served as a bus driver for Maple Heights Transit, now known as RTA. Following the passing of his beloved first wife of 34 years, Anna Meyer (née Smotek), he found companionship and joy once more with his second wife, Mary Archacki (née Radecki), both of whom predeceased him.
Allen disarmed people with his humor and wit. He is survived by his children: Andrea Stredney (Tom), Alan Meyer (Cheryl), Karen Foerst (Jim), Karla Tumino (Pat), Jennifer Berg (Jim), and Annemarie Szczesniak. He took immense pride in his 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and cherished the close bonds he had with his many nieces and nephews.
Known for his spunky attitude and enduring kindness, Allen cherished moments of relaxation on his porch swing, embracing the beauty of nature. Preceded in death by his siblings, James E. Meyer, and his twin sister Alice M. Faul (née Meyer). Allen's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral details are yet to be determined. The family extends their sincere, heartfelt gratitude to Plum Creek Assisted Living Center and Remembrance Hospice for their wonderful care. Condolences and special memories of Allen can be shared with his family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com.
