Allen Eugene Murphy

Allen E. Murphy, age 78, of Perry, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on December 31, 1946, in Perry, Florida, Allen was the son of the late Odis Murphy and Myrtice Murphy (Atwell). A true family man of the Baptist faith, he lived a life marked by hard work and devotion to family.

Allen proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life that reflected his sense of duty, discipline, and commitment to something greater than himself.

For many years, Allen worked as a Pulp Technician at Buckeye Technologies, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. He believed in earning an honest living and providing for those he loved-values he carried throughout his life.

Allen was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Charlotte, and a proud father to his children, Tammy and Eric. Nothing brought him greater joy than his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom he loved deeply and cherished.

He is preceded in death by his father Odis Murphy, mother Myrtice Murphy (Atwell), stepfather Harold Atwell, sister Marlene Murphy, and brother Vern Murphy.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Charlotte Murphy; his children: Tammy Touchton (husband Alvin) and Eric Murphy; grandchildren: Justin Blue (wife Jackie, children Marcus, Killian, and Rory), Kristin (Blue) McKinley (husband Rodney McKinley, son Jack Riggs), and Jarrett Touchton; as well as his brother Stephen "Buddy" Murphy (wife Tina) and an extended family of in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Allen will be remembered as a hardworking, loving, and steady presence-a man who showed his love through actions, sacrifice, and unwavering support for his family. His strength, kindness, and devotion will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A celebration of life will be held at Burns Funeral Home on December 18, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at 10 a.m.
