With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Allen Ray Stegall, who departed this life on August 7, 2025, at the age of 60.
Allen was born on January 11, 1965, and was preceded in death by his loving parents, Floyd Stegall and Alvada Wells-Stegall and a chosen brother, Allen Goldsmith.
Allen is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Teresa Pritchett- Stegall, his beloved son, Greg Stegall and wife Sheena Jennings-Stegall, and his two- cherished grandchildren, Sawyer Floyd, and Isabella Grace, who brought him endless joy.
Allen dedicated his life to public service and community. He began his career in law enforcement with the Bonne Terre Police Department in November of 1987, serving until 1993. That same year, he joined the St. Francois County Joint Communications 911 Center, where he continued to serve with integrity and commitment for over three decades. Providing countless hours of continued education in the 911 communication and IT field.
Beyond his work in law enforcement and dispatch, Allen was a pillar in the fire service community. He proudly served the Big River Fire Protection District for an astounding 47 years, rising to the rank of Assistant Fire Chief. His leadership, wisdom, and bravery left a lasting mark on generations of firefighters and the countless lives he touched during emergencies.
A proud patriot, Allen displayed his love for his country in both word and deed—beginning each day by sharing the Pledge of Allegiance, a simple but powerful reflection of his devotion to the values he held dear.
Allen found joy and peace in the company of those he loved. He treasured every moment with his grandchildren, close friends, and family, always placing them at the center of his life.
