Allen "PeeWee" Swalve, 79, of Milford, formerly of Okoboji passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Estherville.
A visitation for PeeWee will be held on Wednesday, February, 1, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robinson Funeral Home, formerly the Schuchert-Lentz Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Online condolences may be left at www.spiritlakefuenralhome.com
PeeWee was born on January 7, 1944, to Charles and Alice (Pedley) Swalve at home in Ocheydan, IA. He was united in marriage to Kathy Kuhlman on April 1, 1973, in Arnolds Park, IA. Together, they raised their two children Kevin and David at their family home in Okoboji. PeeWee owned and operated Okoboji Standard from 1973 to 1997. He later was employed by Jennings Tow & Repair, Chuck's Auto Parts and most recently with Arnolds Motor Supply.
PeeWee enjoyed working, spending his free time with his grandchildren, volunteering with for the Okoboji Fire Department, school board and little league board where he served as a past president.
He is survived by his son Kevin (Jill) Swalve of Superior, IA, brother Roger (Frances) Swalve of Arnolds Park; grandchildren Malori, Makinzi and Brayden; sisters Jan Nielsen of Spirit Lake; Karen Swalve of Sioux City, Deb Gettner of Sioux City and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, ex-wife Kathy, son David and siblings Dwaine, Norman, Mary and nephew Tim Swalve.

I treasure the summers I worked for
PeeWee at Okoboji Standard. We had such fun! He was very supportive when people would question what I thought was wrong with their car. Not many females in service stations in the 70s. He was a good guy!
